About
At my jam-packed 3-day Campaign Summer School, young people aged between 16 and 18 have the opportunity to learn the skills needed to make a real difference in our community.
The Campaign Summer School offers a first-hand insight into the exciting world of political and social campaigning by bringing together the expertise of veteran political activists and partner organisations.
Over the course of 3 days, attendees design their very own local campaigns and get a unique opportunity to turn their ideas into action.
This year, my Campaign Summer School is taking place right here in Erith and Thamesmead from Tuesday 21st July to Thursday 23rd July 2026.
If you or anyone you know may be interested in taking part, then please find the link to sign up below! The deadline to sign up is Friday 29th May 2026!

“I know from my own experience that whether you’re dealing with environmental issues, crime, education and housing, effective campaigning is the key to influencing and challenging those in power. So, I am determined to do all I can to empower our young people to be the change they want to see in the world.”

Past Campaign Summer Schools:
In 2025, I hosted my biggest Summer School ever with over 30 attendees. It was a brilliant week with amazing speakers and great feedback from the students. I was also delighted to start my Summer School Alumuni Network on LinkedIn following the Summer School to keep all of the attendees connected.
You can find out more about my previous Summer Schools on my website including a post about my last Summer School in 2025 here. Below, you’ll also find photos and feedback from previous Summer Schools.

Feedback from my past Campaign Summer Schools:
“Having people from my Council and from nearby area give talks and connect with them opened a big world of opportunities. I realised the power of my voice and listening to all their experiences gives me hope for the future.”
“Loved it, love Abena, keep it up. It’s important for young people to be educated about government and the make up of politics in the country we live in.”
“It was an amazing opportunity, it made it clear what we as young people can do to make a change, it inspired me to start a campaign and campaign to change something I am passionate about”
